Suspect in sex abuse arrested Wednesday by Portland Police detectives (photo)

On April 26, 2017, Portland Police detectives arrested 54-year-old Kevin Lavan Taylor on a charge of Sex Abuse in the Third Degree in connection with an incident in November 2016 at a Portland Community College library. Taylor was booked into the Multnomah County Jail.
The investigation started on November 1, 2016, a female student at PCC Cascade Campus, located at 705 North Killingsworth Street, reported being forcibly touched in a sexual manner while in the library. During the course of the investigation, detectives obtained surveillance video of the suspect (image released). Further investigation indicates that there may be additional victims.

The Portland Police Bureau collaborates with government agencies and community organizations that provide access to advocacy services to victims of sexual assaults.
A victim may be accompanied by a sexual assault advocate or other appropriate support person during the reporting process and/or criminal investigation.
