What is a wheelchair charging station?

Power wheelchair users can use the stations to charge their wheelchairs/scooters on site at any of the four main PCC campuses. The chargers can be used by students, employees and visitors.

Charger specifications/components

  • 12v, 5 amp charger for wheelchairs/scooters
  • The chargers have a power source for onboard chargers, and specialty chargers that users carry with them.
Plug options

Two plug options include a 24V 2A 3-Pin XLR and a two-pole with ground pin plug that are used on common US electrical equipment.

The two cord options include a 24V 2A 3-Pin XLR and a two-pole with ground pin plug that are used on common US electrical equipment.

Where are the wheelchair charging stations located?

Note: All chargers are located on the first floor for easier access.

Portable Wheelchair Chargers are Available

These chargers are the same model as the stationary units (12v, 5 amp), but are kept in a portable bag. If you need a charge in a different location on campus (i.e. classroom, office, auditorium), Public Safety can bring the unit to you.
