National Disability Employment Awareness Month (NDEAM) 2024
October is National Disability Employment Awareness Month (NDEAM) and we want everyone at Portland Community College to participate. NDEAM celebrates the contributions of workers with disabilities and inclusive employment policies and practices. The theme for NDEAM 2024 is “Access to Good Jobs for All.”

Why celebrate National Disability Employment Awareness Month?
People with disabilities are entrepreneurs, innovators, and community leaders. They perform all levels and types of jobs, in public and private businesses of all sizes. Employees with disabilities often overcome significant barriers. They exemplify desirable qualities, including adaptability and resourcefulness.

NDEAM 2024 highlighted events
Requests for accommodation for any NDEAM at PCC Event
PCC provides accommodation for employees who experience disabilities to ensure you are able to participate in employment related activities. Please make requests for accommodation by emailing adacoordinator@pcc.edu or call 971-722-5869 at least five (5) working days before the date of need.
Community/External Events
- Celebrate NDEAM with the National Deaf Center resources and events. NDC is offering a session on October 24th at 11 AM PST titled, “How Career Services and Disability Services can better support deaf students in their career and employment planning.” Check out the National Deaf Center’s resources and events.
- NDEAM Job Fair at Portland State University on Tuesday, October 22nd from 10:00 a.m.- 12:30 p.m. Learn more and register to attend.
