Phyllis Trowbridge
Phyllis Trowbridge received her Bachelor’s Degree from Hamilton College (Clinton, NY) in 1987 and her M.F.A. in painting from American University (Washington, DC) in 1990. She has been an art instructor at Southern Oregon University (Ashland) Rogue Community College (Medford) Sitka Center for Art and Ecology (Neskowin,) Pacific Northwest College of Art, Oregon College of Art & Craft, and since 2001 at Portland Community College Rock Creek Campus. Her work can be found in local public collections (Beaverton Lodge, Gamblin Artist’s Oil Colors, and the E.R. Jackman Foundation). She has had numerous group and solo shows, most recently at Michael Parsons Fine Art (Portland).
D.K. Row, reviewing a Trowbridge show in The Oregonian wrote: “There are no revolutions in Phyllis Trowbridge’s paintings. But in her vigorous landscapes … you feel the artist’s immense joy and connection with her subject and her love of painting, too.”
