This was painted on site from the bluff at the University of Portland, where the artist regularly went to paint in the late 1990's and early Millennium. An exhibition of works from this period was held at the Buckley Gallery at the University of Portland in 2001 (see other works in the collection such as Happy New Year and Moonraker). The painting is constructed around primary colors with a dark blue saturation and punctuations of white. The ramshackle stacking of warehouse roofs and trees with the city skyline in the distance is the artist's favorite view of Portland's "back door." The clouds in the sky are reminiscent of elements on charm bracelets which were a fad at the time.
