Andres had just begun teaching at Rock Creek when he decided to create a visual chronicle of painted portraits of Rock Creek faculty staff and students. The model for this painting was Korean student Dolly Cho who was born with achondroplasia or Dwarfism. The painting was made in one session and was included in Andres' show at the Rock Creek Gallery (now the Helzer Gallery) in 1994, and later chosen for purchase for the school by the now defunct Cultural Activities Committee. The scale of the painting (larger than life size) and the paint application was intended to allude to the paintings made of members of the royal courts of Europe in the 17th Century.
