Rock Creek Library Remodel: Summer 2024 – Spring 2025

The Rock Creek Library is being renovated to create a more flexible, accessible, and collaborative space for students, faculty, and visitors. A temporary library location will open on July 8, 2024, in Building 3 Room 225 – materials and books should be returned to this temporary location. The library’s Student Computing Center (SCC) will relocate to Building 2, Room 256 on June 24, 2024. Learn more about using the library during the renovation.

FAQs
How long will the remodel last?
The remodel is expected to take 6-8 months to complete.
Is there a temporary library? Will I still be able to check out materials?
The temporary library will be located in Building 3, Room 225. There will be some materials and library books that will be available for checkout. However, these resources will be limited.
Is there a new library computer resource center students can use?
Yes, the new computer resource center will be located in Building 2, Room 256.
When will the new Library and Computer Resource Center be open?
The library will open in its new location on July 8, 2024. The Computer Resource Center will be open in its new location on June 24, 2024.
How will students find these new temporary locations?
Signage will be provided in Building 9, 2, and 3. Additional signage will be located outside near Buildings 2 and 3.
Can I still drop off books in the book drop in Building 9?
No, the book drop will be temporarily closed during construction. Signage will be posted at the book drop. All books should be returned to the temporary library in Building 3, room 225, starting July 8.
Will there be any disruptions to staff in Building 9 on the first floor?
There will be some noise and possible vibrations and odors associated with construction. Aunty disruptions to power or water will be completed after hours or on weekends.
