The Portland Community College (PCC) CAMP Scholars Program, also known as the College Assistance Migrant Program, is a federally-funded program designed to support students from migrant and seasonal farm worker backgrounds during their first year in college. The program provides students with both financial assistance and support services, with the goal of preparing them to continue and complete their education.

Note: To complete this application you must upload a written personal statement, one letter of recommendation, and a copy of your high school transcripts. We recommend preparing these before starting the application. Please upload PDFs or word processing documents of these materials, not photographs.

The College Assistance Migrant Program (CAMP), is a federally-funded program designed to support students from migrant and seasonal farm worker backgrounds during their first year in college. The program provides students with both financial assistance and support services, with the goal of preparing them to continue and complete their education.

Applicants must:

The student or their parent(s), legal guardian(s), or immediate family member must have worked at least 75 days within the last two years in agriculture as a migrant or seasonal farm worker. This includes any activity directly related to the production of crops, dairy products, poultry, livestock, cultivation or harvesting of trees, fishery, nursery, and forestry work. – OR – Be or have been eligible to participate in the Migrant Education Program OR the High School Equivalency Program (HEP) OR the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA), Section 167 National Farmworker Jobs Program.*
Be a US citizen or resident.*
Have a high school diploma or GED®.*
Be eligible to apply for the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).*
Be in their first year or college studies or a PCC student with less than 36 earned college credits.*
Plan to enroll in at least 12 credit hours at PCC.*
