Course Description
Addendum to Course Description
This course is an elective for an Associate of Applied Science degree in Architectural Design & Drafting and Interior Design.
Transferability of credit depends entirely upon the institution to which the student wishes to transfer.
The Architectural Design & Drafting Department should be consulted with respect to the cost of materials for this course.
Students who may have a disability and wish an accommodation should make arrangements to meet with the instructor outside of class to discuss specific requests. Any request for accommodation may require that documentation of disability be reviewed by the Office for Students with Disabilities.
Intended Outcomes for the course
Ø Use basic Revit commands and features to create parametric models and produce architectural drawings.
Ø Display basic Revit skills needed for an intermediate level course.
Course Activities and Design
This course will be presented by means of short lecture/discussion sessions and laboratory projects. Individualized instruction will be provided while the student is working on assigned projects. Open laboratory time will be made available, and may be necessary to complete the given tasks.
Outcome Assessment Strategies
- Proper and timely completion of class projects, which demonstrate effective use of knowledge.
- Evaluation procedures will be presented at the first class meeting. Student grades will be based on satisfactory completion of assigned projects.

Creating Mass Elements
Focus on the creation and modification of mass elements.
Creating Floor Plans
Focus on the placement of walls and the tools available for precise placement of walls, doors and windows for the creation of a floor plan.
Creating Roofs
Focus on the placement and development of roofs with three-dimensional properties.
Annotating the Drawing
Focus on the annotation of a drawing including the dimensions, notes, schedules, and associated symbols for specifying the size and location of architectural features.
Creating Elevations and Sections
Focus on the creation and modification of Elevations and Sections
