Course Description
Covers techniques and methods used to hang and install interior doors, install door hardware; measure, cut and install base trim, casing, crown molding wainscoting and various interior window trim treatments; and in plastic laminate countertop fabrication. Covers estimating techniques used to establish labor and material costs associated with finish carpentry. A student may not receive credit for both the BCT 223, 224 and 226 series and BCT 203. Audit available.
Addendum to Course Description
Learners will become familiar with the skills, materials, hardware, and equipment necessary to finish house interiors. Students will learn and demonstrate the safe use of finish carpentry hand and power tools. Students will complete faculty-designed interior finish projects.
Intended Outcomes for the course
- To safely use and maintain finish carpentry tools
- To safely install interior doors, window surrounds, moldings, and hardware to AWI standards

- Learners will demonstrate the safe operation of hand and power tools used in finish carpentry.
- Learners will collaboratively calculate, cut, and assemble instructor designed projects
- Learners will effectively use class time to complete assigned projects.
