Course Description
Intended Outcomes for the course
Upon completion of this course students should be able to:

Summarize the CAD drafting\design career path and the various tools used while employed in the industry.

Interpret and populate a manufacturing Bill Of Material according to industry standards.

Display positive workplace behaviors aligned with industry-standard practices.
-
Create professional and industry-appropriate technical reports that exhibit coherence, clarity, and organization.
-
Produce written documents using word processing tools appropriate for the document, including an industry-specific resume.

Use pre-writing steps for creating industry related technical communication documents.
Course Activities and Design
-
Some class sessions may involve guest speaker(s) and/or tours of facilities. Industry representatives will provide orientation sessions and opportunities for student questions.

Students will have the opportunity to observe technical drawings, technical communications, design portfolios, etc
-
Other class sessions will be devoted to the development of technical reports and memos, resume writing with proper sentence structure, punctuation, grammar and clarity.

Evaluation procedures and grading criteria will be discussed during the first class meeting.

Individual and class discussion, attendance and participation may be used to assess outcomes.

Students will produce technical documents including reports and office memos.
