Course Description
Introduces the creation of professional graphic images using Adobe Photoshop, Camera Raw and Bridge. Includes image resolution, file formats, copyright issues, and using various tools and features. Recommended: CAS 133 or equivalent file management skills. Audit available.
Intended Outcomes for the course
Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to:
- Use the software interface, tools and features to effectively create and modify images
- Produce professional composites and posters
- Use critical thinking skills to create original imagery

- Manage and organize files and batch processes using Adobe Bridge
- Adjust images non-destructively using Camera Raw and Photoshop
- Understand raster and vector graphics
- Manage workflow effectively
- Produce digital documents by learning to:
- Crop, rotate, straighten and transform
- Manage multiple content layers
- Use layer styles and adjustment layers
- Create selections using various tools
- Create and modify masks
- Create quality vector text, shapes and paths using the pen and shape tools
- Add and modify text
- Use clone and healing tools
- Alter content with Content-aware fill
- Apply filters including blur and sharpen
- Use painting and drawing tools
- Create and use smart objects
- Set up files for print and web output
- Understand copyright issues related to graphics
