Course Description

Introduces the creation of sophisticated, dynamic, interactive and fully functional websites using Drupal, a Content Management System (CMS). Includes setting up a Drupal website in a remote server environment, working with modules, creating efficient site navigation using menus, and organizing a site using modules, blocks, nodes, content types and fields. Also includes enhancing a site with additional content types, modules and themes, and creating user functionality with user logins. Recommended: CAS 111D and CAS 206; placement into RD 115 and WR 115. Audit available.

Intended Outcomes for the course

Upon successful completion of this course, student will be able to:
1. Use Drupal software to create personal and/or business websites following current professional and/or industry standards.
2. Use critical thinking skills to design and create dynamic websites using Drupal.

Outcome Assessment Strategies

Grading of this class will be based on completion of project(s) developed individually or as part of a team. Assessments may include:
? Completion of a functional multi?page website using Drupal. The site may include some or all of the following:
o Modules (Core or additional)
o Blocks
o Themes
o Site navigation using Menus
o User Login
? Tests or quizzes

? Working with modules

? Installing and configuring additional content types, modules and themes

? Other skills as time permits
