Course Description

Learn the cultural context and current status of TCM; Evaluate the energetics of food and herbs, and diet as therapy. Assess the advantages and disadvantages of various preparations and how to treat pathologies with diet and food therapy; Acquire practical applications with Chinese cooking techniques, doses, and compliance.

Intended Outcomes for the course

  1. Incorporate Traditional Chinese Medicine core nutritional concepts within client diet planning and the nutritional therapy model
  2. Identify up to 30 common TCM clinical symptoms and their involvement in diet or deficiency conditions
  3. Recall, explain and integrate nomenclature, methodology and procedures of TCM in health maintenance, management of acute and chronic conditions, compliance and efficacy
