Course Description
Learn the cultural context and current status of TCM; Evaluate the energetics of food and herbs, and diet as therapy. Assess the advantages and disadvantages of various preparations and how to treat pathologies with diet and food therapy; Acquire practical applications with Chinese cooking techniques, doses, and compliance.
Intended Outcomes for the course
- Incorporate Traditional Chinese Medicine core nutritional concepts within client diet planning and the nutritional therapy model
- Identify up to 30 common TCM clinical symptoms and their involvement in diet or deficiency conditions
- Recall, explain and integrate nomenclature, methodology and procedures of TCM in health maintenance, management of acute and chronic conditions, compliance and efficacy
