Course Description

Course topics: The four C’s: clear, concise, complete, correct. Word agreement. Active, passive voice. Sentences, sentence types. Readability index. Manners , courtesy. Practical and inclusive language. Sentence construction, punctuation, writing business letters, memos, e-mails, spelling, proofreading, reviewing.

Intended Outcomes for the course

As a result of the course, participants will be able to: Recognize the importance of minute-taking.  Develop key minute-taking skills, i.e.  listening, critical thinking, and organizational skills.  Resolve many of the complaints that affect minute-takers.  Write minutes that are suitable for formal meetings, semiformal meetings, and action minutes.  Be an efficient minute-taker in any type of meeting.
Be able to prepare and maintain a minute book.
