Course Description
Intended Outcomes for the course
On successful completion of this course the student should be able to:
Ï Design and implement web-based client/server information applications
Ï Use standard HTML, DHTML, CSS and JavaScript for client development
Ï Use database connectivity for server-side development
Course Activities and Design
This course will be presented by whatever means the current instructor views as viable for student learning .
Students will be required to apply subject matter covered in this course and prerequisite courses to complete the project assignments in a timely and professional manner.
Outcome Assessment Strategies
Students will be expected to complete projects that include the following:
Ï solution to a knowledge-based problem.
Ï web page designs
Ï complete set of design documents
Ï implement database connectivity
Course Content (Themes, Concepts, Issues and Skills)

Ï Create supporting test plans for a web-based information project.
Ï Design and code client information gathering programs.
Ï Write client/server submittal programs.
Ï Develop server response programs utilizing current database technology.
Ï Design web pages utilizing current web technology.
Ï Design interactive web pages that work in multiple browsers
Ï Understand W3c Standards
Ï Understand and Implement Javascript in Web Pages
Ï Use basic database connectivity for server-side processing
Ï Understand and Implement Cascading Style Sheets
Ï Utilize DHTML for interactive Web Sites
Ï Read and Write Cookies
Ï Validate HTML Forms before Server Submittal using Javascript
