Course Description
Provides systems administrators with the knowledge and skill sets to install, configure, implement, and manage a web server running Windows server or Linux operating system (does not cover publishing web page content). Audit available.
Intended Outcomes for the course
On successful completion of this course the student should be able to:
- Install and configure web server software on Linux and Windows Server Operating Systems
- Manage web service access and permissions
- Trouble shoot Windows and Linux Web Server issues
- Identify system issues utilizing performance monitoring and server log analysis
Course Activities and Design
This course is presented by means of lecture/discussion sessions, assignments, exams, and lab projects.
Outcome Assessment Strategies
Through exams, projects and class assignments students will be assessed to determine if they are able to:
- Demonstrate written communication skills
- Install web server software successfully
- Analyze and troubleshoot issues surrounding a web server
