Course Description

Continues clinical training and practical experience in expanded function dental assisting duties as allowed by the Oregon Dental Practice Act.

Addendum to Course Description

Emphasis will be placed on preparation and application of sealant material as well as placement of retraction cord in preparation for students to become Pit and Fissure Sealant Certified and Retraction Cord Certified. 

Intended Outcomes for the course

Upon completion of the course students should be able to:

  • Demonstrate sealant preparation and placement using correct and safe techniques.
  • Demonstrate placement of retraction cord using correct and safe techniques.
