Course Description
Expands knowledge in dental hygiene theory and practice with a focus on patients with special needs. Emphasis on clinical considerations and modifications in dental hygiene treatment to provide evidence-based care for various populations.
Intended Outcomes for the course
Upon successful completion of the course students should be able to:
- Determine appropriate modifications to the provision of dental hygiene care to patients with special needs.
- Describe appropriate responses to emergency situations that may arise while treating patients with specific medical conditions.
