• Placement of Practicum 3 in licensed/certified community early education environments, or Head Start/Early Start Programs

Upon completion of the course students should be able to:

1. Use observations and evidence-based tools to describe the multiple influences on child development and learning in order to support young children and families.
2. Support the engagement of families and communities in the education of young children through respectful, reciprocal relationships.
3. Use assessment partnerships with families and with professional colleagues to build effective learning environments for young children.
4. Use a broad repertoire of developmentally appropriate teaching/learning approaches to support young children’s learning.
5. Design, implement, and evaluate developmentally meaningful and challenging curriculum for individual children using knowledge of appropriate early learning standards and other resources.
6. Apply knowledgeable, reflective, and critical perspectives on early education to caregiving practices with young children birth – 5 years.

• Participate in Mid-term and Final conferences with the mentoring team (Supervising Faculty and Mentor Lead Classroom Teacher) to review progress. 
• Assessed on classroom practices by Mentor Teachers and Supervising Faculty throughout the term.
