Course Description

Introduces programming for electronics applications with emphasis on instrumentation control, robotics and automation. Includes writing programs, as well as troubleshooting and modifying existing code in assembly, C and/or specialized high-level computer languages, such as LabVIEW. Audit available.

Intended Outcomes for the course

Upon successful completion students should be able to:

  1. Select the appropriate programming language for the specific hardware application.
  2. Write, test and debug programs to control electrical equipment.
  3. Troubleshoot and modify existing electrical control programs. 

Outcome Assessment Strategies

Assessment methods are to be determined by the instructor. Typically, in-class quizzes, online quizzes, exams and weekly homework assignments will be used. Laboratory assessment will be by program demonstration, code review, reports, and/or practical skills testing.
