Course Description

Introduces mechanical systems that make up subsystems of today's wind turbine. Covers basic hydraulics and pneumatics, wind power production as well as other wind power related topics. Audit available.

Intended Outcomes for the course

  • Service wind turbines mechanical systems
  • Assist engineers with the design of wind turbines

Course Activities and Design

Course will include 2 hours per week lecture and 3 hours lab. Field trips may be included.

The instructor may use Attendance, quizzes, homework, group projects, or individual projects to assess the students’ progress.
