Course Description

Theory and application of electrical motor concepts and electrical circuits are emphasized. Control system components, wiring diagrams and schematics are included.

Addendum to Course Description

This is the second in a series of courses in applications of electricity, circuits, meters, switches and breakers, motors and their schematic
drawings relating to the HVAC industry in residential, commercial, and industrial settings.

Intended Outcomes for the course

" Discuss operation of single phase and three phase motors
" Describe motor troubleshooting techniques
" Identify common motor control components
" Troubleshoot contactors and relays
" Explain operation of low voltage thermostats
" Describe motor and controls maintenance
