Course Description

Explores a variety of traditional, non-digital illustration tools and techniques. Covers professional methods of digitizing and formatting artwork for media reproduction. Integrates illustrations into design communication materials.

Intended Outcomes for the course

Upon successful completion, students should be able to:

  • Utilize key illustration techniques for client-based solutions.
  • Apply professional output preparation techniques to hand-rendered illustrations.
  • Skillfully incorporate illustration into layouts to enhance client communications.

Outcome Assessment Strategies

Design and produce a collection of 2-D and 3-D graphic design projects which incorporate non-digital illustration as a key component.
