Course Description

Introduces common tools and equipment used in the landscape industry, their benefits and limitations, and the potential impacts of design decisions on installation and maintenance of common landscapes. Audit available.

Intended Outcomes for the course

Upon completion of the course students should be able to:

  1. Identify the most common tools and equipment in the landscape trade.
  2. Select landscape tools and equipment appropriate for specific tasks in the field.
  3. Describe the capabilities and the limitations of the most common tools and equipment.

Course Activities and Design

Individual assignments to be completed before coming to class. This may include watching videos or reading assignments to introduce new concepts.

Weekly lectures and demonstrations
