Addendum to Course Description
Part 3 of the Stop Motion Animation sequence of classes:
1. MM 215 Intro to Stop Motion
2. MM 216 Puppet Fabrication in Stop Motion
3. MM 282 Stop Motion Animation Production
In MM 216, students build characters and materials to be used in MM282 Animation Production
Intended Outcomes for the course
Upon successful completion of the course, students should be able to:
1. Apply multiple animation and compositing methods in collaborative projects.
2. Identify and navigate the roles and responsibilities of project managers, directors, collaborators, and contributors to stop motion animation projects.
3. Plan and create animated characters for use in group projects.
4. Manage projects using industry-standard pipelines and workflows.
Course Activities and Design
Course material will be presented in a lecture format, and then explored in a lab format. This course is designed to maximize learning through the use of outcome-based instruction strategies, collaborative learning, contextual application, and performance-based assessment.
Outcome Assessment Strategies
Assessment will be based upon a combination of in-class work, reflections, examinations, and skills demonstrated in assigned projects. Determination of problem-solving skills, and communication skills may also be included.
