Course Description
Intended Outcomes for the course
Upon completion of the course students should be able to:

Identify methods for music analysis in a variety of contemporary genres.

Apply a variety of analytical methods to contemporary music using historical, cultural, and technological contexts.

Examine research methodologies used in musical analysis.

Demonstrate an understanding of organizational patterns of music and their interaction, and employ this understanding through aural, verbal, and visual analyses.

Articulate emotional responses to music and identify the various musical parameters that elicit that response at a beginning level.
