Course Description
Covers digital technology used in the recording industry. Principle studies are A/D-D/A conversions, graphic editing, plug in effects programming and data handling. Audit available.
Addendum to Course Description
Digital recording focuses on technology as a tool for creativity. Basic signal routing, editing, operation of computer based and console based functions. A/D transfer of finished analog project (Mus 225) will be the starting point. Labs will consist of performing workstation application
Intended Outcomes for the course
Familiarizes student with equipment, functions and basic setup. Prepares them for more advanced operations (Mus 227). Reveals creative possibilities. Increases their efficiency.
Outcome Assessment Strategies
Students will be tested on their understanding of terms, equipment and functions in a written exam. Labs are assessed on point accumulation based on command skills, application competency and critiques.

- Signal routing direct to hard disk and through console
