Course Description

Expands on the methods and skills of Hatha yoga and mat Pilates. Incorporates intermediate-level exercises for increased flexibility, core strength and stabilization, muscle balance, improved health, relaxation, and reduced stress in daily living. Audit available.

Addendum to Course Description

An average class includes practice of intermediate-level yoga asanas (exercises), Mat Pilates exercises, breathing techniques, and balance activities through teacher directed activities. Includes modifications for various fitness levels.

Intended Outcomes for the course

Upon completion of the course students should be able to:

  • Improve flexibility, muscle balance, control, and core strength through intermediate-level Hatha yoga and mat Pilates.

  • Apply modifications to intermediate-level asanas and Pilates exercises as needed for proper alignment and safety. 

  • Develop and maintain a personal yoga and mat Pilates practice, applying intermediate-level skills.
