Course Description
Covers intermediate and advanced Hatha yoga poses. Offers exposure to other areas of mind body fitness and an opportunity to study a selected yoga topic in depth. Recommended: Prior knowledge and skills to perform the Sun Salutation A and B. Audit available.
Addendum to Course Description
Conducted as a learning-performing type class with outside individual research to enrich student knowledge and skill. Includes teacher and student directed activity. Includes asana practice & relaxation practice
Intended Outcomes for the course
Upon completion of the class students should be able to:
- Develop personal ongoing intermediate and advanced yoga practice.
- Maintain a fitness, health, and wellness program that incorporates yoga.

Advanced asanas and sequences of asanas. Progressing in a yoga practice for:
- Balance
- Flexibility
- Kinesthetic Awareness
- Alignment
- Breath Control
- Strength
- Interpret and apply the benefits of yoga postures
- Personal application of Yoga philosophies
- Demonstrate safety principles for asana practice
- Select asanas appropriate for personal needs
- Identify and apply relaxation techniques for stress reduction
