Course Description
Introduces the game of tennis at an intermediate level. Covers intermediate skills that relate to the serve, ground strokes, and the volley. Emphasizes strategy related to singles, doubles, and competition play. Audit available.
Addendum to Course Description
Review basic strokes and skills, and refine grip and stroke technique. Review strategies for singles and doubles with in-class competitions.
Intended Outcomes for the course
Upon competition of the course students should be able to:
- Demonstrate skill development at an intermediate level.
- Apply game situations and strategies as they relate to singles, doubles, and tournament play.
- Recognize the fitness benefits of tennis as a lifelong sport.
- Apply the rules of tennis for both singles and doubles play.
