Course Description
Continues to explore independent and applied physical exercise programs to promote physical activity in all areas of fitness, including: cardiovascular, resistance training, and flexibility/mobility, with a goal to improve body composition. Explores healthy behavior change through exercise, nutrition, and habits. Audit available.
Intended Outcomes for the course
Upon successful completion of the course, students should be able to:
- Demonstrate improved cardiovascular and muscular conditioning, flexibility, mobility and body composition through individually planned exercise program.
- Demonstrate behavior change techniques to improve overall fitness and well being.
- Design a life-long fitness program.

To provide accountability and motivation to participate in weekly physical activity and develop a life-long fitness plan.

- Pre/Post physical activity and optional body composition testing.
- Individual fitness participation.
- Personal physical activity log and journal.
- Participation in discussion assignments.
- Introduction quiz over course requirements and syllabus.

- Setting Physical Activity Goals with S.M.A.R.T and F.I.T.T principles
- Explore the Components of Fitness including cardiovascular, resistance training, and flexibility and mobility.
- Intensity monitoring via target heart rate
- Explore nutrition habits to support weight management
- Explore further components of health and wellness to create life-long fitness program
