Includes basic history, terminology, etiquette, strategies and skills of game. Audit available.
Addendum to Course Description
Each student provides appropriate sport clothing for activity. Sport shoes are required for activity.
Intended Outcomes for the course
Upon completion of the course students should be able to:
- Improve physical condition
- Develop skills for maintaining lifelong fitness
- Develop skills, terminology, and techniques for beginning volleyball
- Recognize/apply basic volleyball rules

- Beginning physical skills of volleyball

- Fundamental rules, terminology, and sportsmanship
- Safety concepts
COMPETENCIES/SKILLS:
- Practice warm-ups, cool-downs
- Perform beginning physical skills of volleyball, including setting, serving, passing, spiking, and blocking
- Apply basic rule use in play
- Participate in team play
- Demonstrate basic game strategies
