Course Description
Addendum to Course Description
Introduction to various aspects of personal real estate investments. Discussion of the basic strategies of real estate investment, including the relationship between risk and return. Introduces important considerations for potential investors when purchasing, holding and selling investment property.
Intended Outcomes for the course
- Apply the basic strategies of investing to real estate
- Demonstrate an understanding of the relationship of risk and return and leverage
- Apply and demonstrate a real estate investment analysis, including the impact of income taxes
Outcome Assessment Strategies
Students will be assessed by any combination of the following:
- Active participation in class
- Contextual written tasks (in or outside of class) to assess reading
- Homework assignments
- Oral responses to in class hypothetical
- Request for real life applications of course material
- In class, interactive student role-plays
- Exams and quizzes
