Course Description
Develops introductory proficiency in restorative procedures through hands-on learning on typodonts. Emphasizes foundational skills in preparation for applying permanent restorations on patients. Prerequisites: DH 110, DH 113, DH 230. Corequisites: DH 240.
Intended Outcomes for the course
Upon successful completion of the course students should be able to:
- Select and assemble appropriate handpieces, dental burs, and instruments for restorative procedures.
- Demonstrate clinically acceptable placement of amalgam and composite restorations with moderate reproducibility at laboratory level competency.
- Complete and polish amalgam and composite restorations at laboratory level competency.
