Course Description

Develops introductory proficiency in restorative procedures through hands-on learning on typodonts. Emphasizes foundational skills in preparation for applying permanent restorations on patients. Prerequisites: DH 110, DH 113, DH 230. Corequisites: DH 240.

Intended Outcomes for the course

Upon successful completion of the course students should be able to:

  1. Select and assemble appropriate handpieces, dental burs, and instruments for restorative procedures.
  2. Demonstrate clinically acceptable placement of amalgam and composite restorations with moderate reproducibility at laboratory level competency.
  3. Complete and polish amalgam and composite restorations at laboratory level competency.
