Course Description
Provides a culmination of comprehensive training in restorative dentistry. Improves upon and reinforces clinical skills in performing restorative procedures, focusing on hands-on practice in the clinical setting. Covers a range of restorative services, emphasizing clinical techniques and patient care skills. Prerequisites: DH 243.
Intended Outcomes for the course
Upon successful completion of the course students should be able to:
- Demonstrate chairside assisting duties during restorative procedures.
- Obtain patient informed consent for restorative procedures.
- Employ pain management techniques required for restorative procedures.
- Demonstrate placement, finishing and polishing of permanent, temporary, and therapeutic restorations as directed by a dentist at the entry restorative clinician level.
- Evaluate and adjust the patient's occlusion prior to final restoration evaluation by attending dentist.
