Course Description
Provides an opportunity to analyze diagnostic tests and results in an electronic health record format and identify the medical necessity for the tests. Prerequisites: HIM 110, HIM 120. Corequisites: HIM 105.
Intended Outcomes for the course
Upon completion of the course students should be able to:

Utilize software in the analysis of health record tasks.

Interpret the documentation in the health record to ensure it supports the diagnosis and reflects the patient's progress and clinical findings.

Examine the documentation in the health record to ensure it is timely, complete, and accurate.
