Course Description

Introduces the principles, practices, models, and issues involved in case management. Covers skill development including assessment, intake interviewing, service delivery, and information management. Prerequisites: WR 115, RD 115 and MTH 20 or equivalent placement test scores. Prerequisites/concurrent: HUS 101, HUS 102, HUS 141, HUS 131, and HUS 121. Audit available.

Intended Outcomes for the course

Upon completion of the course students should be able to:

  • Summarize the basic context, role, framework and application of case management.
  • Analyze the concepts and ethical considerations of case management as applied to the needs of diverse populations.
  • Apply an understanding of case management processes through interviewing, active listening, consultation, and disseminating critical information.
