Course Description

Continues Magnetic Resonance Imaging theory and application, patient care, MR safety, imaging procedures, data acquisition and processing and the physical principles of image formation. Department permission required. Prerequisites: MRI 101.

Intended Outcomes for the course

A.     Understand advanced MR theory and physical principles.

B.           Understand advanced MR image creation principles

C.     Understand physics of specialty MR imaging.

The student will learn advanced MR theory  and principles to prepare them to function as a MR Technologist.

Ø  fast pulse sequences – gradient-echo, fast spin-echo, EPI

Ø  signal/noise, contrast/noise, bandwidth, trade-offs

Ø  3D acquisitions

Ø  MR Angiography
