Addendum to Course Description

This course explores key practices and strategies of successful leaders in today's work environment. Various approaches to leadership are examined with consideration to their impact on motivation and productivity. Specific skills and practices are suggested and applied in class discussion, case studies, role plays, and projects.

Intended Outcomes for the course

  1. Use appropriate communication approaches to increase understanding and work group success.
  2. Step into leadership roles required by the situation or the team makeup.
  3. Build a productive and healthy climate through positive leadership practices.

Outcome Assessment Strategies

  • Various individual and/or group skill-building activities such as role-plays,case studies, or other exercises geared toward critical analysis of course concepts.
  • Written assignments or oral reports designed to integrate course material into personal experience or experiences of others.
