Course Description

Creates an experience of a progressive, flexible multimedia ensemble beyond the boundaries of a traditional ensemble class. Incorporates elements of other genres of artistic expression: dance, visual art, poetry, MIDI, and video. Involves collaborations with student composers for the purpose of premiering new works. Audit available.

Intended Outcomes for the course

Upon completion of the course students should be able to:

  • Demonstrate intermediate to advanced music reading ability.
  • Demonstrate intermediate to advanced ensemble performance skills.
  • Serve as a resource to support student composers.
  • Commission and perform works by living composers.
  • Work together as a flexibly formed musical ensemble.
  • Create and execute a multimedia concert performance.
