Faculty Learning Communities
PCC’s Center for Teaching and Learning Excellence is excited to be hosting Faculty Learning Communities for the 2023-24 academic year. Faculty Learning Communities (FLCs) are small groups of faculty that meet throughout the year to discuss and learn together about a variety of topics. Some of the topics this year include:
- Teaching to Transgress: Education as the Practice of Freedom
- Hot Topics in Teaching
- Lateral Mentorship Collaborative
- AI in Education: Inviting Students as Co-Knowledge Creators
- Career Success Across the Curriculum
Each learning community is composed of no more than 10-20 faculty and facilitated by faculty members who’ve recently completed a Train the Trainer Program that focused on best practices for facilitating FLCs.
All our work at the Center for Teaching and Learning Excellence (CTLE) is grounded in Critical Race Theory, Inclusive and Culturally Responsive Pedagogy.
