A little about me
I have worked for PCC in the Ladybug infant classroom since fall of 2019 but have been working with children since 2007. I started out as a nanny and then moved on to work for Head Start and Early Head Start, where I worked for eight years in several bilingual programs. I have worked with children ranging from six weeks to six years, but my focus has been on infants and toddlers, ages zero to three.
I am most passionate about working with infants and toddlers because of the lasting impact that social interactions and relationships have on a child’s present and future development and health. Our youngest children have such a great capacity to learn and absorb new skills and abilities. Everyone has a different image of what a child is and what they are capable of, but I think that as adults, we often overlook the potential that our youngest citizens have. It is my goal to advocate for young children and to help them reach their potential by providing a safe, loving environment where they are allowed to explore and grow to their best ability. I love being a part of the team at the PCC Child Development Center and it is an honor to work with the children and families.
I was born and raised in Portland, Oregon and I love the rain! Outside of the classroom I enjoy spending time with family (I have three amazing nephews and an amazing niece), being crafty with such activities as crocheting, drawing, baking, and sewing. I currently live in Beaverton with my fiance, our two dogs, and our cat.

A little about me
My name is Jamie and I have been working for the Portland Community College CDC since November of 2023. I have been working in childcare for 13 years now. My goal is to go back to school to get my Associates degree in Early Childhood Education. I have always loved learning with children and watching them grow. I am thrilled to be apart of such a wonderful and caring community.
Outside of school I spend my time exercising at the gym, taking my dog Luna on walks, reading and trying all kinds of food with my boyfriend.
