PCC

  • The DREAMer’s Resource Center offers a safe and welcoming environment for DACA and students with mixed immigration status. We support, retain, and empower these diverse students to achieve academic excellence and become courageous leaders who challenge and dismantle systems of oppression within Portland Community College and their communities.
  • The PCC Legal Resource Center is a free legal clinic at PCC Cascade in North Portland, providing free legal services to Oregonians. We are dedicated to increasing access to justice and addressing the lasting impact of disproportionate law enforcement on people of color and low-income communities.
  • The Women’s Resource Center is open to students of all gender identities, safe space and working to ensure the WRC is centering the experiences of all women in our services. Learn more about Transiciones Oeste, an opportunity to earn 9 college credits.
  • The Outreach and Advocacy Project program provides one-on-one confidential advocacy support to students impacted by dating/relationship abuse, sexual violence, and stalking. Support includes safety planning, connection to PCC and community resources, exploring reporting options, protection order information, emotional support, and more.

  • The ESOL Department offers eight levels of English, from level 1, for students with no or very little English, through level 8, after which students can continue on with their college classes.
  • High School Equivalency Program (PCC HEP) mission is to provide accessible, culturally-relevant, high quality education for migrant and seasonal farm workers through recruitment, high school equivalency (HSE) instruction, academic advising, and post-HSE attainment placement services.
  •  The Panther Pantry is a free resource to all PCC students (current student ID is needed). Our pantries are stocked with fresh food, canned food, hygiene supplies, and more. Panther Pantries are intended as a stop-gap to help students in periods of high need while they coordinate access to other food assistance resources. The Panther Pantries are here to serve current students, faculty, and staff at Portland Community College. In order to access the pantry, you must first register for classes. A current PCC ID card and term sticker are required.
  • Career Pathways & STEP Program provides one-on-one support to help you access resources, services, and employment. You may also be eligible for financial support to help you with the costs of college.
  • PCC Counseling & Student Wellness Services provides free support to students whose lives and academic journeys are impacted by psychosocial, emotional or mental health concerns. Services: Individual and group counseling and workshops. Please note that sessions are by appointment only, but same-day and next-day appointments are often available. There are also drop-in academic stress management sessions available without an appointment. Crisis counselors are available by texting or calling 988, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week
  • The Office of Student Conduct and Community Support (SCCS) oversees PCC’s Civil Rights and Responsibilities Policy, connects students to PCC and community resources, and supports students with navigating PCC processes. If you have an urgent funding need, the SCCS team has limited funds that may be available to you.

Financial

  • Urgent student need funding is available on a limited basis. If you are in need of assistance, please submit a CARE Referral Form to connect to our Conduct and Community Support team, who provide support for accessing PCC resources.
  • PCC Payment Plans let you spread the cost of your education into affordable monthly or bi-weekly payments. Use the tuition calculator to estimate what your payments will be.
  • TheDream.US, the country’s largest scholarship resource for DREAMer students! Applications are open to undocumented immigrant students with or without DACA or TPS who came to the U.S. before age 16 and before Nov. 1, 2017.
  • Scholarship for PCC Students: The PCC Foundation awards hundreds of scholarships every year. These are just for PCC students, so you should definitely apply. PCC Scholarship Resources Handout.

  • The DREAMer Resource Center at Portland State University provides holistic support for DREAMers and allies at PSU, including educational and career readiness, scholarships, 1:1 resource navigation, community building, advocacy, and leadership development opportunities.
  • Centro Cultural works to improve the health and economic mobility of underserved communities in Washington County. They provide multigenerational and culturally-specific services through the following core program areas: K-12 STEAM education, workforce development, small business technical assistance, public engagement, civic advocacy, community health and wellness, transitional housing, and community-wide arts and cultural events.
  • Community Action provides critical services to low-income families in the areas of housing, homeless services, economic empowerment, family development, and early childhood care and education.
  • Virginia Garcia provides community resources that’ll ensure you have access to everything you need to get – and stay – healthy, they partner with several organizations in the community.
  • Adelante Mujeres provides holistic education and empowerment opportunities to marginalized Latina women and families to ensure full participation and active leadership in the community.
  • Latino Network is a Latino-led education organization, grounded in culturally-specific practices and services, that lifts up youth and families to reach their full potential.
  • Latino Community Association is an essential connecting point for our immigrant community to ask questions, have letters translated, get help making phone calls (interpretation) and negotiating payment plans (advocacy). In addition, help families pay their bills, file their taxes, work through legal issues, find work, improve their English, and connect to new opportunities. Provide volunteer opportunities that bring people together across cultures to build a more cohesive community.
  • Catholic Charities of Oregon achieves lasting solutions to poverty and injustice by partnering with clients to meet their economic and educational goals and to support their physical and social well-being.
