In general we discourage the cross-listing of courses, unless there is a justifiable reason for the cross-listing to occur. When the SAC representatives were asked for this justification for the six courses that would be cross-listed, it was provided: The courses must be listed with the APR prefix due to the new statewide degrees and certificates. These courses must also be listed with the prefix of ELT for people currently working in the industry who are no longer apprentices. If the courses were only listed under the APR prefix, current Journeypersons would not be able to receive Continuing Education Units for Oregon State electrical licensing proposes. The same rational holds for the other four courses later in the agenda, also denoted with 2.
