My husband and I attended PCC’s gala a few years ago at the request of a friend. After hearing the student testimonials and learning about the wonderful opportunities available at PCC, we were inspired to get more involved. Our goal from then on was to make sure as many students as possible have access to higher education to improve their lives. We see a commitment to PCC students as a pebble dropped into an ocean, creating a ripple effect of benefits for our entire community.
Becoming a Champion for Opportunity was an easy decision for us because it was a commitment we could plan for and be excited about, and as a bonus we were able to leverage a matching gift from our company to reach the financial commitment.
We have loved sharing with our children the importance of lifting up the community around us whenever possible and building a tradition of giving back within our family. Portland Community College is such a smart investment which will pay dividends throughout the region, and in our hearts as well.
