This was a project experimenting with the sgraffito technique. I was thinking a lot about how we (as humans) tend to ignore the fact that time is finite, pretending we will live into a figurative forever. As a result, we put things off to a proverbial “someday”, as in “someday I’ll do [blank].” There have been countless times I’ve left my breakfast forgotten as I answer an email, get caught up in social media, etc. This piece serves as a reminder that time IS finite, to put my phone down and eat my damn eggs.
