This was the first class project I completed for Winter Term Life drawing where we explored contour line, exercising our ability to rely on hand eye coordination to get raw images, rather than relying on our brain which edits and tells us where to make marks. I wanted to explore portraiture most with this assignment and selected a reference image that had mixed conventions: traditional portrait frame with non traditional portrait pose.
