Though I cannot exactly remember the purpose of this assignment, what I did know was that I wanted to work from a picture I took in a photography class. I liked the original photo, but I wanted to see how it would translate into a drawing. I mostly used graphite sticks to capture the large bark chips on the ground, as well as some of the strong shadows. Drawing pencils were also used to capture finer details and shapes.
