Daniela Avila | “Mi Máscara”
This media file is attached to: Painting / Watercolor
This painting portrays an exploration of identity and behavior. For this artwork I selected a picture of myself smiling to paint an alternative version of my face. The lack of eyes and the white background are meant to emphasize the smile by itself as a mask. I used only red, orange, yellow, purple, and white paint to create dimension. The choice of colors and the painting technique of blending was intended to give the "mask" an impactful but mysterious appearance. The end sought is the questioning of one's own authenticity.
